This Fall’s Match Campaign Success Provides Boost as Year-End Giving Season Approaches

This fall, one of our dearest and most generous donors approached Wyoming Catholic’s Advancement Office with a wonderful challenge-grant opportunity:

This donor promised to match any donation we received in response to the College’s annual Back-to-School appeal, dollar-for-dollar—up to $100,000.

Recognizing what an opportunity this was, the College’s Advancement team sprang into action, eager to maximize our benefactor’s incredible generosity and provide an even-greater benefit to Wyoming Catholic College and its students by meeting this goal.

Well, we met it.

Smashed it, in fact.

Thanks to our friends and supporters, Wyoming Catholic College raised $168,700 in response to the Back-to-School mailing, nearly 70% more than our donor’s target amount. Thank you so much!

Reflecting on the campaign’s success (and the season), President Glenn Arbery remarked that “as Thanksgiving approaches, there is much for which we at the College are thankful. We are very grateful to have such supporters, who understand the importance of our mission. We are confident that our students, schooled in resourcefulness and not in easy formulas, will help solve the problems we face, whether as a country, as a church, or as society itself.”

“This is the year-end fundraising push,” said Joseph Susanka, the College’s Vice-President of Advancement, “when most non-profits raise the majority of their operating expenses. By successfully meeting this match challenge—with special thanks to the benefactor who made it possible—we’ve made a significant dent in our annual fundraising needs. We’re thankful for all the gifts and prayers that helped make this campaign so fruitful.”
