THIS CHRISTMAS: An Extraordinary Opportunity!!

I’m excited to tell you about an extraordinary year-end opportunity. One of our strongest, most faithful supporters has stepped forward as the year draws to a close with an extraordinary challenge grant:
A $250,000 gift for student scholarships, that will match everything raised between now and the end of the year. If we meet this challenge, it will mean half-a-million dollars in support of our young people!
Why would this benefactor make such an extraordinary offer? Because he believes whole-heartedly in the College and in its students and graduates! For years, we have said (with confidence) that the education our young people were receiving here at Wyoming Catholic College would produce extraordinary results, and that all that was needed was time.
Then, our graduates were teachers; now, they are headmasters. Then, they were entry-level technicians and programmers; now, they are vice presidents and CEO’s. Then, they were seminarians and postulants; now, priests and professed religious. When they left us, they were eager and joyful young graduates with the entire world before them, lacking only direction and experience. Now, they are lawyers, doctors, mothers and fathers, business owners, financial advisors, journalist, artists and artisans, military personnel and EMT’s and firefighters and policemen, and so much more.
Their time in Lander (and in the back country) has given them abilities increasingly uncommon in many of their peers: problem-solving, inventiveness, grit and determination, the ability to listen well and to communicate clearly and eloquently, carrying themselves with sincerity, humility and joy.
Is it any wonder that they are so successful?
With each of these successes, growing more abundant with each new class of graduates that heads out into the world, we grow more confident in the value of what Wyoming Catholic offers. And so do our supporters!
That’s why on of our strongest supporters, inspired by these bright, earnest, young people and eager to bring our transformative education to even more young people, has stepped forward this Advent with such an extraordinary challenge grant:
A $250,000 gift for student scholarships, which will match the support we receive between now and the end of the year, promising up to half a million dollars for the extraordinary young men and women we are blessed to teach!
As you know, the College has refused to accept federal funds, choosing instead to retain our institutional autonomy. In the current political maelstrom, surrounded by a rising tsunami of dissatisfaction with the funding model that props up nearly all higher educational institutions, this decision looks more like wisdom with each passing day. But it also means that our scholarship fund remains the most pressing need we have, each and every year. With this gift and with your year-end support, we have a wonderful opportunity to inspire and influence even more of our young people.
So today, I ask you to show your confidence in what we are doing here by making a gift in support of our scholarship programs. Show your pride in our young people and your gratitude for the things they will do (and are already doing!) to change the world. Please make a gift today by using the donation form below. And please be as generous as you can.
Remember: Thanks to this challenge grant, your gift will be doubly helpful. And thanks to your support, our students will continue to transform our society, our culture and our church.
Fr. Dcn. Kyle Washut, S.Th.D.
President, Wyoming Catholic College
