High School Math and Science Teacher

Cardinal Newman Academy in Richmond, Virginia, seeks a mission-driven and knowledgeable Math and Science Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for math and science instruction, a commitment to faithful Catholic education, and a desire to serve students in pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach math and science classes across grades 8-12, including algebra, pre-calculus, and chemistry
• Plan and implement daily lessons that reflect Catholic values, integrate virtue formation, and foster student engagement.
• Support students with diverse academic backgrounds and learning needs.
• Maintain an up-to-date gradebook and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
• Communicate regularly with parents to support student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment across the math department and broader academic program.
• Participate actively in faculty formation, retreats, school events, and liturgies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, or a related field
• Prior teaching experience preferred
• Practicing Catholic in good standing, willing to joyfully witness to the faith.(preferred)
• Passion for mathematics, student formation, and Catholic liberal arts education.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Must obtain Virtus certification and pass background check
