Job Title: Admissions Office Assistant

Position Summary:  Assists the Wyoming Catholic College Admissions Office in its efforts to recruit prospective students and process their inquiries and applications.

Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Contact by phone or email applicants and/or parents as requested by the Admissions Office to encourage them to apply, discuss the status of their applications, and answer questions about the College.
    • Process admissions inquiries by replying to online requests, mailing requested materials, recording data from the inquiry, and filing paperwork.
    • Fulfill letters and other mailings initiated by the Admissions Office by assembling the required materials, preparing them for mailing and filing related paperwork.
    • Guide visitors to and through College facilities.
    • Deliver bedding to dorms for visitors.
    • Take visitors on hikes and other activities.
    • Assist in Admissions weekends such as Founders Scholarship Competitions and Visitor Weekends.

Desirable Attributes

Proficiency in the languages used by the college choirs, especially Latin.

Applicants for this position who have keyboard skills or an aptitude for choral conducting will be considered for the positions of organ scholar and (assistant) choir director, respectively. The responsibilities associated with these positions would be incorporated into the role, with a proportionate reduction in administrative responsibilities. Additional training may be offered for these positions, according to individual circumstances.

Work Schedule: Hours will be 10 hrs/wk. Baristas may have shifts Monday through Saturday anytime between 6:30 am – 5:30 pm in Crux. 

Position Summary: Every Crux barista is asked to serve the best quality product to the people of WCC and the wider Lander community. It is necessary that all baristas be welcoming and provide the best customer service to everyone everyday. We’re looking for enthusiastic, dedicated folks who want to both learn about coffee and share what they learn with the people of Lander. 

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Welcome all customers

Job Title:   Equestrian Hand/ Ranch

Position Summary:  Students working for the Horsemanship program will be assisting with the following tasks: clean, maintain and repair tack and other equipment, maintenance and upkeep of facilities, maintenance and upkeep of the horses which may include occasional ferrier and veterinarian duties. They will also be responsible for guiding visitors to insure their safety at the barn. They will also serve to help students who may be struggling with course concepts. On occasions when we ride off-site they will assist with transporting horses and equipment and will assist with other duties related to off-site riding. If the student is an advanced rider, they will assist the instructor in schooling unruly or unfit horses under instruction. Student must be outgoing, friendly, and willing to be flexible, as various functions may take place at the arena throughout the year.

  • Rake, shovel and scoop manure, sand and possibly snow.

Position Summary:

The custodial team’s job is to keep WCC’s campus functional, presentable, and beautiful by working as a team of students to efficiently maintain set standards of appearance and cleanliness.

Our first and most important goal regarding this, is to ensure that campus is functional. This means that bathrooms have the supplies they need and are operational, that trash cans are open and not overflowing, that hallways are passable and safe, that rooms are open and usable to students. This ensures that the academic and human good we all pursue in our campus is possible

Regarding the appearances, the custodial team’s role is to ensure that the campus environment is, as much as possible, conducive and not distracting from the formation of body, mind, and spirit. This consists of keeping floors clean, and tables, whiteboards, bookshelves, windows, and other surfaces presentable to create an environment that encourages mature and respectful academic behavior amongst all students while well-presenting the good we have here to donors and visitors.

Finally, the custodial team’s role is to ensure that campus is healthy to use. This means disposing of waste and sanitizing bathrooms and  high-touch surfaces (especially in flu/cold seasons) to reduce transmission of disease and thereby keep our environment conducive to our academic and human good. This may include special projects and light maintenance by special request from time to time.

Tutors will hold weekly open office hours and attend a weekly study group organized by Professor Hamilton.

Job Title:  OLP/COR Logistics Coordinator                    Number of Openings:  10

Department:   Outdoor Leadership Program & COR Expeditions

Work Schedule:   Most shifts will be on weekday afternoons. Some on-call availability and morning/evening/weekend work required (working around class schedules).

Position Summary:  Coordinate logistics, food and gear for both WCC and COR trips. Maintain OLP equipment center with open rental hours for students, faculty and staff.  Supporting student Outdoor Leaders and prospective leaders.

 Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized equipment center.
  • Assist WCC Outdoor Leaders with adventure (day/weekend) trip coordination by helping trip leaders find the resources & paperwork they need, packing their gear, getting them out the door, and meeting them upon their return.
  • De-issue, clean, re-stock, fix, sort, and put away gear after trips.
  • Do laundry.
  • Repair gear.
  • Rent outdoor clothing and equipment to WCC students, staff, and faculty.
  • Keep accurate records of equipment rentals, condition of outdoor equipment and inventory of the equipment center.

Position Summary:  Under the guidance of the Chaplain, the sacristans assist in all that is needed to carry out the liturgies and devotions in a timely manner.  The General Instruction of the Roman Missal, n. 105 says: “The sacristan … carefully arranges the liturgical books, the vestments, and other things necessary in the celebration of Mass.”  This description may not exhaustive; the sacristans are called to a hidden role of service out of love for the Lord, and those who participate in the liturgies and devotions.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Communicates regularly with the chaplain about matters that may affect the apostolate of the chaplaincy and works under the chaplain’s direction. Submits work-study forms to be reviewed and signed by the chaplain in a timely manner, and monitors work-study hours to comply with WCC work-study program guidelines. In collaboration with the chaplain develop check lists for sacristans and servers duties, and makes a written record of what was done at special liturgies so that these may be consulted in the future.

  • SCHEDULING:
    • Recruits and trains servers. Prepares the roster and schedule of altar servers, serves when no one else is available. Encourages students to assist with serving;
    • Puts up and takes down signs for the chaplaincy, especially the liturgical schedule and schedule for adoration during exposition.
  • DAILY SET UP AND PUT AWAY:
    • Sets up for special, Sunday, and daily Mass, Exposition, Adoration, and other liturgies and devotions of the College, or ensures that servers are delegated for that purpose;
    • After liturgies and devotions, ensures that items used for the liturgy are put away, and the chapel is cleaned and tidy;
    • Distributes, collects, and organizes hymnals, booklets, leaflets, music, and other materials used at liturgies and devotions to keep them properly stored.
    • Puts up and takes down hymn numbers as needed, and refill holy water stoops around the chapel or church.
  • CLEANING, CARE AND REPAIR
    • Organizes and cares for all liturgical vestments, (the priests vestments, servers cassocks, and surplices, and others); cleaning and caring for them or arranging for this to be done; arranging dry cleaning in conjunction with the chaplain, and advising the chaplain when repairs are needed
    • Periodic cleaning of items used in the liturgy as necessary, polishing brass items; cleaning sacred vessels and linens under the direction of the chaplain or arranging someone to do this;
    • Ensure that surplices and cassocks are washed and ironed at least once a semester;
    • In communication with the chaplain and staff at Holy Rosary Parish and the College, to inventory consumable supplies such as hosts, candles, incense, and charcoal, and recommending the quantities that need to be ordered;
    • Cleans and tidies up the sacristy on an ongoing basis. Communicates with those in charge of cleaning the church or chapel to ensure these are kept clean (sinks, floors, countertops, closets, drawers, bookcases).

Position Summary:  Student Life Assistants help the Student Life Staff with organization of student events, activities, and services.

Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities

  1. General office work.
  2. Help plan and attend events.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education/Experience:  Must have good organization skills and an attention to detail.  Must be able to work independently. Must be willing to attend multiple events through the school year. Must be enthusiastic about activities and share enthusiasm with student body.
