About the Street Fair
The St. Joseph’s Street Fair is a public event hosted by Wyoming Catholic College students and staff. This event aims to bring the Lander community together in celebration of the May 1st feast day of St. Joseph. In 2023, the street fair will be on Sunday, April 30th beginning at 2pm at N 3rd Street between Main and Lincoln.
Saint Joseph is the patron of the universal church. He was a carpenter, and spent his life caring for the Christ child and the Virgin Mary. He is often depicted lovingly holding the Christ child in one arm and white lilies in the other symbolizing his fatherhood and chastity. He has two feast days: March 19th, and May 1st. The street fair will begin with a procession with a statue of St. Joseph.
The street fair is a family-friendly event with activities for all ages!
Activities include face painting by WCC students, an assortment of carnival games, corn hole in the street, live music, and crate stacking (more information below). Both children and adults can participate in multiple three-legged races for their respective age groups, competing for various age appropriate prizes. In special honor of St. Joseph, flower crowns and baskets are sold as well!
Crate stacking is an activity done in a climbing harness. Participants attempt to stack as many milk crates on top of each other as possible while remaining balanced on the top crate. At the street fair in 2023, there will be a crate stacking competition. Crate stacking is open to all 7+
