Executive Director, St. Boniface Senior Living Foundation

Ken McHugh, the newly elected Executive Director of the St. Boniface Senior Living Foundation, has extensive experience in the operations of both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Recipient of a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from DePaul University, and a Juris Doctor Degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology-Kent College of Law, he is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for DePaul University. During his 28-year tenure at DePaul, he was recognized for the breakthrough leadership which enabled the University to keep pace with its rapidly growing student population while minimizing tuition increases. He has received awards for this unique vision and extensive track record, including his work with the community, which has been cited by the City of Chicago’s City Council. In 2003, he became emeritus Executive Vice President at DePaul University and joined the faculty of the DePaul University Real Estate Center, while also launching IPM (now named The Amicus Companies LLC). As a for-profit consultant developer, the Chicago Cityscape is dotted with IPM-Amicus projects, including the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies, Catholic Theological Union, and the University Center of Chicago. In 2005, the University Center of Chicago was awarded Project of the Year by Midwest Construction Magazine. The Amicus Companies is now managed and operated by Ken’s sons.
