High School Math Teacher

The Classical Academy in Alton, Iowa, is currently hiring an Upper School math and science teacher and classroom teachers in our Lower School (1st, 2nd, and 5th grade).

We are a small school, meeting full-time on a four day a week schedule. We are an ecumenical school that serves families from various denominations in our community. We currently have Catholic, Luthern, Presbyterian, and Reformed families, with pastors and professors on our board and within our founding families.

TCA is centered around virtue formation, the liberal arts, and the great books.  The opportunity to teach with us in our first few years of operation is unique because each of our faculty contributes significantly to the shaping of our curriculum and school culture. We aim to cultivate a true faculty of friends who learn together as we teach! Our board and faculty are currently reading and discussing together Augustine’s On Christian Teaching. We are a community of learners who love to read and discuss great books and big ideas at all levels of the school.

We are eager to invest in young teachers who love students and the classical tradition and who want to learn and work in a small, vibrant community of learners.
