HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER | Full-time | Medford, Oregon

Chesterton Academy of the Rogue Valley is a joyful, classical high school, rooted in the Catholic faith. We are seeking a talented and dynamic full-time Science teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 academic year. We offer a competitive salary and a faith-filled, Catholic environment.

The ideal Science teacher will teach high school Astronomy/Physical Science, Biology, and Physics for the upcoming 2026–27 school year, with the addition of Chemistry in the 2027–28 school year.

Class sizes average 9–12 students. Full-time and part-time positions may focus exclusively on Science; however, we strongly prefer faculty who are willing to teach one course each year outside their primary discipline, typically in the humanities or mathematics. We are able to accommodate faculty availability when creating the annual course schedule. As a member of the Chesterton Schools Network, we provide detailed course plans and materials aligned with designated textbooks.

A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Experience in the Catholic liberal arts and three to five years of teaching experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have an understanding and appreciation of an integrated curriculum which allows for the connection between the humanities and the arts/sciences.

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic able to actively mentor the students in the faith, and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and classroom management.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body and assist in leading spiritual retreats and school activities.

-Must be practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic secondary education (Required)
-Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
-Master’s Degree (Preferred)
-3-5 years of teaching experience in secondary school (Preferred)
-2+ years teaching experience in a classical school environment (Preferred)
-Exemplary verbal and written communication skills (Required).
-Background check to work with minors (Required)
