While it’s easy to think about the Bible as a book—after all it comes in one bound volume—it’s far more accurate to say that the Bible is an anthology comprising 73 books. That anthology includes history books, books of poetry, collections of wise sayings, books of prophecy, gospels, letters, and apocalyptic books. And while all are the Word of God, the various genres require that we read each sort in an appropriate way. Dr. Jeremy Holmes, Associate Professor of Theology here at Wyoming Catholic, addresses these challenging matters in today’s lecture.
