Andrew Emrich
Andrew is a partner in the Denver office of Holland & Hart, LLP, the largest law firm based in the Mountain West. In his nearly two decades at Holland & Hart, Andrew has represented clients in significant energy and environmental litigation in the areas of oil and gas, mining, and renewable energy projects. He has extensive knowledge of federal environmental, energy, and natural resources statutes and regulatory agencies’ administrative and regulatory processes and has successfully assisted clients in obtaining permits from, and negotiating agreements with, federal agencies, Native American Tribes, and state and local governments.
Before joining Holland & Hart, Andrew served in the administration of President George W. Bush as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General at the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he litigated significant environmental and natural resources cases and helped develop and implement litigation strategy for federal agencies in courts throughout the country. Prior to his service at the Department of Justice, Andrew served as Legislative Counsel and chief legal advisor to U.S. Senator Michael Enzi of Wyoming. In that capacity, Andrew worked on a variety of federal energy, environmental, Native American, and land management legislative efforts and policy initiatives.
Andrew has a B.A. from Thomas Aquinas College (1993) and a J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law (1996). He and his wife (Shandra) have been married for 28 years and have five sons, two daughters-in-law, and one grandson. They reside in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
