Andrew Westerman (‘19) Ordained to Deaconate
On the morning of Thursday, September 28th, Wyoming Catholic College alumnus Andrew Westerman (‘19), a seminarian for the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter who is currently studying at the Pontifical North American College, was ordained a deacon in St. Peter’s Basilica, making him the second alumnus who has received the sacrament sacred orders.
Longtime friend of the College (and President’s Advisory Council member) Mark Randall, who was attending the ceremony, noted that “[Andrew’s] joyful smile throughout the two hour liturgy was inspiring!” (The ceremony was performed by Oklahoma City’s Archbishop Paul Coakley, another long-time friend of the College who is serving on her President’s Advisory Council.)
Reflecting on his time at the College, Deacon Westerman says that “the foundation of my priestly vocation and my love for Christ and His Church is in large part a product of my time spent in ‘God’s Country.’”
Please keep Deacon Westerman in your prayers!
