Kristin is passionate about empowering others to reach their potential through interaction with the beauty and wonder of God’s creation.
In her undergraduate studies at Appalachian State University (ASU) in North Carolina, Kristin studied Outdoor Experiential Education and minored in Psychology. Additionally, she worked for ASU’s Outdoor Program managing logistics and leading student outdoor trips (backpacking, rock climbing, caving, white water rafting and challenge courses). Since earning her degree, Kristin has worked as a challenge course facilitator, guide, naturalist, and certified climbing instructor for schools and programs around the nation, including Outward Bound. (She has been certified by the American Mountain Guide Association three times, and first earned her Wilderness First Responder certification in 2003.)
Though Kristin never stopped exploring the outdoors on a personal level, she did spend five years working for an international research company (D3 Systems, Inc.) based near the nation’s capital, where she honed her administrative and management skills as an Office Manager and eventually became their Human Resource Manager. She loves supporting a team by making sure needs are met, and streamlining processes to maximize efficiency and retention. Kristin earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certificate in 2015, but decided to relocate to Wyoming to be closer to the wilderness.
In the past, Kristin has served as a short-term missionary for Solid Rock – Climbers for Christ, and now serves as the Lander Chapter Coordinator, and as a Chairperson on their Board of Directors.
