COR Missionary

B.A. (Political Philosophy), University of Dallas

damien.walz@corexpeditions.org

Damien has always been a lover of sports and the outdoors from the age of one when his parents first taught him to swim in the Pacific Ocean while living in Ventura County, California. Damien continued this when his family moved to Dallas, Texas by engaging actively in Boy Scouts and a handful of varsity high school sports while attending an all-boys prep school run by Cistercian monks.

Damien then attended the University of Dallas where he majored in Political Philosophy and served his fellow students through many different leadership roles such as Charity Week Co-Chair and President of the Student Body.  He also played two collegiate sports, leading his rugby team to their first appearance in a national championship.

Damien greatly enjoys backpacking, whitewater rafting, ocean kayaking, surfing, and canyoneering and is constantly hoping to broaden his experience in the outdoors. However, he enjoys the wildness of the backcountry the most when he is sharing experience, funny stories, and a love of God with other people. Damien hopes to serve others in this capacity through his ministry as a guide and instructor for COR Expeditions.
