Testimonies

"This COR expedition in Moab, Utah helped open my eyes to the beauty and wonder we experience in nature and most importantly how the experience of that helps me to see each and every person with beauty and wonder. The littlest of God's creation can spark this upward movement of our thoughts to the wonder and awe of understanding a little bit more of who God is and who we are in relationship with Him."

"It was all uncomfortable; but at the same time, it was the most amazing experience ever. I now know, going into the future, that it’s okay to feel awkward or out of your element. Most of the time it’s better than okay because it means that you’re growing, learning something you didn’t know before."

"I’m so thankful to have participated in this retreat expedition. Through a variety of activities – hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, white water rafting – we built a community of encouragement and joy. The COR missionaries did an exceptional job teaching leadership skills, but, more importantly, of being Christ to us."

"COR Expeditions was exactly what our Youth Ministry needed. It taught the teens responsibility, allowed them to be creative and independent, and encouraged them to lean on others and trust one another. It challenged them to think outside the box and dive deeper into elements of their faith. What they were apprehensive about before we left for the trip, they totally embraced while we were on our COR Expedition. It was unlike anything any of us had ever experienced, in the absolute best ways."

"I learned to finally trust others and God…to be vulnerable and loved."

"This program helped turn me around from suicide and isolation…now I have a voice to share my experiences with others."

"Joseph Pearce, a fan and writer on J. R. R. Tolkien, attributes the continuing popularity of the "Lord of the Rings" to the fact that through the myth and fantasy world, Tolkien created, “not a flight from reality, but an escape to reality.” I would describe St. Dominic Parish’s recent wilderness adventure led by COR Expeditions in the same manner. Rather than leaving reality behind for four days, participants were invited to get in touch with their deepest reality as beloved sons and daughters of God, as disciples of Jesus Christ, His Son, and as couriers of the Holy Spirit. That means “stepping up and out” in the corner of the world entrusted to us each day and proactively exercising servant leadership…in the arena of faith in our home, work and worshiping communities!"

"COR is a powerful new avenue of evangelization for the Church."
