Learning Through Experience

COR Curriculum

Our goal for COR trips is to transform and renew the hearts of all who attend them.  With this in mind, we recognize that a person is composed of Body, Mind, and Soul.  Accordingly, we have designed our curriculum to educate these three dimensions of the human person.

A course contracted through COR can be one day, a weekend, one week, or even longer, and it can be a single or a multi-adventure trip.  These Adventure Activities are not meant to perfect or correct the physical attributes of our participants; instead they are meant to educate and challenge them as well as encourage their continued pursuit of physical growth.  At COR we have the expertise and equipment to facilitate many adventure activities, including:

  • Backpacking
  • Rock climbing
  • Ice climbing
  • Whitewater rafting
  • Whitewater kayaking
  • Canoeing
  • Sea kayaking
  • Mountain biking
  • Skiing
  • Winter backpacking
  • Mountaineering
  • Caving
  • Hunter safety
  • Canyoneering
  • Horsepacking

In addition to these adventure activities, COR is equipped to educate the mind through the facilitation of many Experiential Education opportunities.  Courses taken through COR can be designed to include any of the following experiential education opportunities:

  • Leadership
  • Risk management
  • Conflict management
  • Self knowledge
  • Communication
  • Group development
  • Debriefing
  • Teaching tips and techniques
  • Feedback

Finally, COR invites all its participants to partake in the formation of soul by engaging in the spiritual programing offered:

  • Mass and the Sacraments (when a chaplain is in attendance)
  • Daily morning and evening prayer
  • Time for individual prayer/reflection/spiritual reading
  • Communal prayer
  • Rosary
