Summer is in full swing here at COR Expeditions, with one of our busiest periods falling at the end of July. Nevertheless, great news is always worth sharing, no matter how busy we get!

Those of you who read my Lent Appeal letter from earlier this year will remember David Carey, a former COR missionary who found his vocation to religious life with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (the CFRs) while leading CFR postulants in the desert on their annual COR 21-day trip.

Earlier in July, David, now Br. David Joshua, was officially invested with the gray habit of the Franciscans at the central CFR Friary of St. Joseph in the Bronx, NY!

Along with his fellow brothers, Br. David (above, three from the right) will spend the rest of his discernment time with the CFRs in prayer, formation, service, and community. We are so grateful for the gift David made of himself as a missionary for COR and the deeper gift he is making through this beautiful vocation.

Please enjoy the video below of David officially donning the Franciscan habit. And join us in keeping David, his discernment, and the CFR community in your prayers!

In Christ,
